Dear Hawks,
My name is John Holahan and I am the current Recruitment Chair for Lambda Chi Alpha Fraternity.I would like to take the opportunity to keep you abreast to the recruitment events that will be taking place in the next month. But first let me tell you a few things about Lambda Chi Alpha.
Lambda Chi Alpha is the most involved Greek organization on campus. Over 85% of brothers in our chapter are involved in other activities on campus including Student Senate, Redshirts, and nearly every service organization, as well as a number of other organizations. Lambda Chi Alpha is typically the gateway through which most people in our chapter become more involved in extracurricular activities at St. Joes and helps develop leadership skills for life.
We are the largest fraternity on campus, but I must also say we are the tightest knit. You may be asking yourself how anyone can back up such a claim, well come to some of our recruitment events and find out. Sunday September 14th is when official recruitment begins for all of the fraternities on the campus. This period continues until Friday September 26th. During this two week period, all of the fraternities will be holding recruitment events to help you guys get to know the brothers and a little bit of what each fraternity is about. By coming to an event, you get a better sense of our organization and what it takes to become a member. Even if you are only slightly interested in Lambda Chi Alpha, coming to events does not force you to make any kind of commitment. Bring a friend and come for some good food, if nothing else.
I trust that you are still interested in our brotherhood. This isn’t the last announcement you will be seeing so don’t worry if you can’t remember everything. Also keep your eyes peeled for announcements on the My SJU homepage as well as LXA fliers across campus. Good luck with the new semester and I hope to see you soon. If you have any additional comments concerning Lambda Chi Alpha or the recruitment process please don’t hesitate to email me, and I will be happy to answer any questions or concerns you may have, and also do not hesitate to stop by the LXA tables in the crimson café to meet some brothers, usually there’s someone there every hour of the day.
Regards,
John Holahan
